Mikey's bone marrow biopsy results were "perfectly normal". I can't think of a better Christmas present than that, can you? The procedure was very painful as unfortunately, the doctor did not relinquish her current rein as Pain Control Nazi. (Jeez!) Mike will have to have this procedure repeated in the future and I hope that she comes around on this issue. We will just cross that bridge when we get to it.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers in getting Mike and Melisa through this recent event. As more information regarding his treatment becomes available I will definitely pass it along. For now, we sit...and wait...and pray...and pray some more.

Well, this is the BEST NEWS possible!!! But Mikey, I just have one question for you: When has anyone ever referred to you as "perfectly normal"??!!! I'm just saying....this has got to be a first. hahaha Love to you, Melisa and Casey. Truly an answer to our prayers. Jesus Saves and Amen!
Sherry, I thought the same thing..."perfectly normal???" She obviously doesn't know us or our sense of humor very well!! HAHA!
Sounds like the Big Man (and I'm not talking about Santa here!) has granted you the Christmas wish at the top of all of our lists!!! I'm so thrilled that we'll end this year on a positive and "perfectly normal" note! But I'm with mom and Rach here... that biopsy was of the bone marrow... NOT the brain!!!! ha!!! Now, if we can only get that darn UK basketball back to "perfectly normal"....
... been away for awhile, but, looks like it's a good time to be getting up to speed, huh? just wanted to say "congratulations" and that we're always thinking about you down here...
I also need to give a belated "Happy Birthday" to Hailee and to give a resounding shoutout to the newest little members of our Rocky Top Family... for those of you who don't know about it yet, Hailee and her sister Emilee have recently given their little hearts to the VOL NATION, forsaking all other regional collegiate athletic programs... I ask for your prayers in watching over these two sisters in Orange and pray that they are not beset by the erroneous paths of others around them as they begin their journey Into the Orange...
how about you? yes, you.. I beseech any of you who might be reading this right now and who might feel heavy of heart, bereft of hope... maybe you think that you are unworthy, that you've just worn way too many red-and-white candy striped boxers through the years, maybe you own far too many clothing items that feature the Kentucky state bird, or maybe you just can't muster the fortitude to head back down to your local DMV and exchange that silly, sophomoric IAM4UK license plate for something with a little more substance...
Is this you? I want you to know that there is hope for you tonight, more hope than you can ever imagine... but, it's up to you to take the first step... let these stories of Mikey's clear bone marrow biopsy and our newest little Volunteer sisters be your inspiration and decide for yourself what it is that you will stand for, who it is that you will stand with... the VOL NATION is open to all and now we've got a couple of beautifull little girls that will be the first to greet you with open arms as you begin your journey Into The Orange...
Praise Jesus! Hang in there, Mikey! Have a Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year!
Love from Hendo...
Dave, Rendy and Clara Dean
OMG! I am just now reading this and catching up, and Preacher Eades from Vol Nation Baptist Church down there in Knoxville is absolutely cracking me up!!! I love it!
Awesome news about the BMB, but we all know all things are possible when you put your trust and faith in Jesus! We hope each and every one of you have a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year! Remember the 'reason for the season', because without that precious baby born on Christmas Day, we would not be where we are. So Merry Christmas everyone!!!
Jesus Saves!
Love and prayers,
The Hope's on Wood Dr
P.S.
Happy Early Birthday to our precious baby Emilee!! (the big 6 on 12/26)
Mikey,
Great Christmas gift to us all. Thank the good Lord and everyone down here for the prayers. We love you all and glad you will be around for more jokes and many more Christmas's.
Love and prayers
Barbara
