Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Mike is doing well and continues to adjust to being back home. He got into a regular routine down at Vanderbilt and tries to maintain that same consistency at home. One thing he enjoyed was exercising - both walking and riding the stationary bike. Well apparently since the hubs of hell have decided to take up permanent residence here in Kentucky, walking outdoors hasn't been too much of an option. They considered getting a treadmill so he could continue his exercising and were looking into this over the weekend. As the Lord works in mysterious ways, Karen Hunter from Accuride just so happened to be replacing her old treadmill with a new one and offered hers up to Mike and Melisa! How great is that? So Mike has been walking on that a few times each day. Mike said Scott cranked it up as high as it would go and since Scott can run like a deer, the treadmill could definitely keep that pace. So should Mike decide to go all Marion Jones sans the 'roids on us, he can.
He had a good weekend all in all, mainly just relaxing and had a few visitors. Big Hope and Scott came over and mowed their grass, which was very nice. Mike was also glad to see the Colts win big yesterday. Another funny note: Melisa wasn't feeling so hot yesterday and was lying down on their bed. Mike yelled in there at her, "Hey, do you think you're going to be sick??? I have leukemia in here you know!" heehee
Please continue keep Mike in your prayers. This Wednesday he will be having that BMB, or as he likes to call it, "having the bone pulled from my ass". Please pray that this process goes as smoothly as possible and that those pesky leukemic cells are still at bay. Please pray for his physicians and nurses down at Vandy, the ones that he will visit on Wednesday and the ones that will be taking care of him for his consolidation therapy the following week.
Take care and have a good week!
Rachel
