Tx Plan for Mikey

Mike met with Dr. Zigler, the oncologist at St. Mary's yesterday. He will begin treatment as an inpatient beginning tomorrow. He will receive 6 full days of chemotherapy and an additonal strong dose of chemotherapy every other day. After that he goes home and recuperates. During his recuperation, Home Health will come to his home for blood work. He will also return to St. Mary's to receive a neupagen shot (this is the injection that stimulates bone marrow growth and increases WBC).

As we are faced with a new circumstance of unknowns we are trying to be patient with the process, obedient in following the Lord's lead, and ultimately hopeful for Mike's healing. Hope...Hope is a funny thing. Mom came across a great quote the other day:

Hope is the power of being cheerful in circumstances which we know to be desperate. - Gilbert K. Chesterton

Hope. We will not even for a second hang our heads and become dejected, not even for a second. I can't say that it's always easy to remain hopeful, but with the Lord in our hearts and by our side, we cannot be anything but.

Hi, M&M! Understand you guys are getting ready to head out again on the 17th. Sorry you have to go through another round, but thankful the tx is proceeding as planned. So here's to getting on with it. The sooner, the better. Oh, & just so ya know, I'm all up (or am I down?!!...whatever) with that HOPE & CHEERFULNESS STUFF....just as long as you don't get "cheerful" enough to stage another one of those little comedy routines on my behalf. That ain't "cheerful", kid; that's "sadistic". hahaha Love ya. Love ya. Love ya. JESUS SAVES & I'm outta here.
